Instead of navigating more than 750,000 acres of desert wilderness on your own, experience Joshua Tree National Park with a professional naturalist guide who knows where to go, what to see, and how to make the most of your time in the park.
This private adventure for 1–9 guests combines the freedom of open-air travel with a professionally guided exploration of Joshua Tree’s extraordinary landscapes, geology, ecology, wildlife, and human history.
Your adventure departs from the Yucca Valley Welcome Center at 9:30 AM and returns at approximately 12:30 PM, giving you about three hours inside Joshua Tree National Park. Optional hotel pickup from the Greater Palm Springs area is available. See Pickup below for details.
More Than a Sightseeing Tour
Travel aboard a custom H1 military-style open-air Hummer, designed to make the journey itself part of the adventure. With unobstructed views and room for up to nine guests, you can experience the sights, sounds, changing temperatures, and remarkable scale of the high desert in a way that simply isn’t possible from inside a conventional vehicle.
Along the way, your guide brings Joshua Tree to life through its geology, desert ecology, plants, wildlife, history, and extraordinary natural environment. There is time for photographs, short walks, questions, and spontaneous stops.
Because this is a private tour, the pace and route can be adjusted to your group’s interests and abilities. There is no route planning, navigation, or driving to worry about—your guide handles the details while you enjoy the park.
Far from the traffic and distractions of the city, this experience offers something increasingly rare: a few hours immersed in the quiet, immense landscapes of the California high desert.
Typical Stops & Experiences
Keys View — Take in one of Joshua Tree National Park’s grandest panoramas from more than 5,000 feet. On clear days, views extend across the Coachella Valley toward the Salton Sea and distant mountain ranges.
Hidden Valley — Explore the famous Hidden Valley walking loop, surrounded by massive granite formations, Joshua trees, and classic Mojave Desert scenery.
Cap Rock — Visit one of the park’s signature geological landscapes, with enormous granite boulders, Joshua trees, and an easy walking trail.
Custom Stops & Hikes — Because this is a private tour, your guide can tailor the experience to your interests and abilities. Additional stops can include Skull Rock, scenic overlooks, photography locations, short hikes, and other park highlights as time permits.
Routes and stops may vary depending on weather, park conditions, closures, timing, and your group’s interests.

PRIVATE HOME OR HOTEL PICKUP
For our pickup option, we pickup from any home or hotel in the Greater Palm Springs to Joshua Tree area in our comfortable shuttle van. This option is $200 extra and comes complete with an extra 2 hours with your park guide and a comfortable hassle-free way to enjoy your tour with a pickup and dropoff.

Starting in 2025, there are new BACKCOUNTRY FEES that are not included with your general park admission with us.
The new national park rules require each individual to purchase the PEDESTRIAN PASS for $15 per person. Please go to the following website to make a purchase for your entrance fee prior to the tour at this website: https://www.recreation.gov/sitepass/74286
The park also accepts your America the Beautiful Pass or a Joshua Tree Annual Pass if you have one. It will permit up to 4 adults admission.
** No pedestrian fee is required children for 15 or younger.
This pedestrian pass gives you permission on the backcountry paths inside the park as part of the new fee structure introduced in 2024. Tour operators are prohibited from making these purchases on behalf of the guests. Please have your tickets purchased and ready before your tour. Full Refund with at least a 48-hour notice.
We offer a full refund if you cancel your tour with at least a 48-hour notice. However, in case of inclement weather, we may have to cancel the tour. If that happens, we will provide you with two options. You can choose to either take a tour in a climate-controlled van and receive a refund of $50 per person or you can choose to cancel the tour and get a full refund if you are unable to reschedule.
