San Andreas Fault Explorer - Private
This 4 hour PRIVATE tour leaves at 8 am and returns about 12 noon. It is available from October 1st to April 30. The San Andreas Fault Explorer is a great introduction to the desert and an amazing adventure! Your tour includes a pickup and dropoff at any hotel or home in the Greater Palm Springs area.
This reservation is for your own PRIVATE H-1 military open air Hummer and expert geology guide. We can seat up to 9 people in your special family, friend or company outing.
Visit and journey into an area where the Pacific and the North American geological plates are colliding. Here we find some of the most active seismic activity in the United States. Your geology guide will educate and entertain you as you explore an area with rocks that are the same age as the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
We include a stop and brief hike into the 3rd largest naturally occurring oasis of fan palms in the world. Here we walk through a place that looks like a scene in a tropical jungle complete with giant Palm Trees and a visit to an original cabin belonging to one of the first pioneer settlers in this area.

You will see historic gold mining areas and enter a place time has forgotten. Wildlife is often encountered including the Nielson Bighorn Sheep.

What is included:
1.) Begin with an adventure into the Canyons of the San Andreas Fault. We will journey into canyons formed by the most powerful faultline in North America.
2.) We stop at the 3rd largest Oasis in the world to walk over the San Andreas Fault on a bridge. Water literally gurggles out of the ground.
3.) Step inside a cabin built by one of the first settlers of the area.
4.) Travel along an old goldmine trail that rises some 2000 feet above the desert floor.
5.) 1 hour is spent off the Hummer for optional walks and photos.
6.) We provide water and a snack.
