Joshua Tree Adventure Open Air Hummer Tour
Experience Joshua Tree National Park from a customized open-air H1 Hummer with an expert local guide. Ride high above the road with unobstructed views of Joshua Tree forests, massive granite formations and wide-open Mojave Desert landscapes.
This is more than transportation through the park. Your guide brings Joshua Tree to life through its geology, ecology, history and the stories of the people who once lived and worked in this remarkable desert.
We visit the park’s most iconic viewpoints and scenic areas, with time for photos, short walks and simply taking in the landscape. You enjoy the experience while we handle the driving, timing and route.

Joshua Tree is the star of the tour, but the open-air H1 changes the way you experience it.
With nothing between you and the desert, every stretch of road becomes part of the adventure.

Your Joshua Tree Adventure
Choose the departure location shown on your ticket: Palm Desert, the Palm Springs Art Museum, or the California Welcome Center in Yucca Valley.
Guests departing from Palm Springs or Palm Desert travel in a climate-controlled shuttle to the Joshua Tree area, where your open-air H1 Hummer and guide will be waiting. Guests departing from Yucca Valley begin closer to the park and spend more of their tour time in the Hummer.
Once aboard the H1, settle in and enjoy unobstructed views as your guide introduces you to Joshua Tree’s geology, ecology and human history. Stops are selected around park conditions, weather, traffic and the pace of the group.
Typical highlights may include Cap Rock, Hidden Valley, Keys View, Joshua tree forests, massive monzogranite formations and scenic overlooks. Along the way there are opportunities for photographs, easy walks and an optional walk of approximately one mile for guests who would like to explore farther on foot.
